Doing a marathon distance offroad a week on Sunday.
Started distance training on Sunday 4th with a 24K, then on the 11th Did a 28K then on the 18th did a 36k paired down to 15K last Sunday and doing the same 10k this weekend.
My shins feel lush and pain free.
I realise this doesn't help in the least, I'm just telling you to be smug.

Cut back on your training. Have your running style assessed.
Sorry fella, never the answer we want to hear when we are training for an event but it is the truth.

Yep, did the one marathon and that was enough for me. Will stick with halfs and under.

If you hate it, I suggest switching to Sprint Intervals. Way more enjoyable, and more efficient. It'd prolly lead to you doing the Marathon in an unusual way though, ie 20 sec sprints, 60 secs walking, 20 sec sprint, etc.

Try hitting them hard repeatedly with a rolling pin, that works well.

Anything under 6 hours for me would be great. I'll probably see P fly past me at 22 miles.

Haven't decided between the Brentwood or Silverstone one.
When I say I don't care about the time, I mean I really don't care. I could get over taken by a bloke in a diving suit and it wouldn't bother me.
I'll get round - obviously I want to enjoty it as much as possible, but I doubt i'll be doing more than 18miles on a training run.

Stating the obvious but a big difference between 13 and 26 miles. You really need to be doing more than 13 miles come March, no matter what time you are planning to do it in. Doing the Colchester or Brentwood half marathon per chance?

I have had shin splints and, I'm afraid, rest is the only way to get rid.
